In a normal bite, all the upper teeth are slightly outside all the lower teeth. In a crossbite, some or all of the upper teeth are inside the lower teeth. This situation can cause jaw growth problems in children, an uncomfortable uneven bite, and also results in excessive wear and tear of the teeth.
