Orthodontics for Children and Teens
We recommend that all children have an initial orthodontic assessment by the age of 8 years. This is because sometimes orthodontic problems first appear at this time, and early diagnosis and minor intervention can significantly reduce or even eliminate the need for orthodontic treatment in the future.
In children the face is also rapidly growing, so any imbalances in the growth of the jaws can be identified and addressed.
Other problems can simply be monitored until all the permanent teeth are in place, around age 11-12, and then treated quickly and efficiently at that time or in the teenage years. This saves you both time and money. If this is the case for your child, we offer free regular review appointments until all the adult teeth have erupted.
